Preaching must be based with a sense of mission and should be advocacy in nature depending on the dire changing needs of our times. Today the pews are vacant while many churches are up for sale, our core values are non existent while the other ethnicites and religions are taking an advantage while we are appeasing and pursuing the policies of status quo. In the words of ex archbishop of Canterbury Dr.William Cary, “The extinction of the church is a generation away.”We are late in waking up, yet if we do not wake even now, we will not be able to even salvage much. The future is worrisome just as I find reading books as,
1)The suicide of a superpower by Pat Buchanan.
2)Silent no more by Rod Parsley.
3)Can America Survive by John Hagee.
There are many others to wake us up yet I feel that we are no different than the nation of Israel who in their hay days became focused on self and lost interest and need of God.
May God help us as we are no different.
I am writing a booklet or perhaps a book on advocacy preaching if any one has an interest and can be one to keep me ignited as a resourced person while going on, I can be thankful to God for that.
Best wishes always.
